Hurricane Sandy - Spills in the Arthur Kill, Arthur Kill, NJ

USCG Sector New York requested scientific support from NOAA Emergency Response Division on 31Oct2012 for Hurricane Sandy related pollution incidents. The USCG is currently investigating 3 oil spills in Arthur Kill, NJ/NY, reports of several orphan containers, and many potential hazmat targets. A NOAA Scientific Support Coordinator is on-scene. Additional support personnel are en route.
